Have you SCENE it? The Delaware River Scenic Byway features an 877-foot bridge over the site of George Washington’s Christmas day crossing. Manhattan Bridge–built in 1909 over the East River— is one of New York City’s 8 suspension bridges. The bridge supports 7 travel lanes, 4 transit train lines, a bikeway, and a walkway. #America250 #GreatAmericanRoadTrip

 

The Clark Bridge built in 1922 is one of many trunnion bascule bridges, also known as Chicago Style bridges. In 2024, Americans drove 3.3 trillion miles, which is more than 6,000 times the combined distance of all NASA space shuttle flights. It’s a good thing FHWA makes sure those roads and highways are among the safest and most technologically sound in the world!
