Planning Commission Year-End Review

2019 started out as busy as ever. There were a couple of short periods of slowdowns on the application side but we finished with a flurry of activity. Construction activity has remained very strong. At one point this year we were slightly below our 2015 activity levels but finished with the second highest activity levels in recent history.

We saw a decrease in single family lots approved and an increase in multi-family units. This seems to align with current trends in housing demand across the United States. The total number of applications submitted to the Planning Commission and number of building permits reviewed is down this year. This is the primary reason why we expect to see a slowdown at some point in the near future. However, we are still growing at a record pace. While a slowdown is expected it has not come to fruition yet. If it does come, it is not expected to last long.
